AmeriSciences, Houston, TX, has launched TOZAL Eye Health Formula, which contains taurine, omega 3 fatty acids, zinc, antioxidants and lutein. A study at five university-based research centers found that TOZAL improved vision in patients with “dry” macular degeneration. Visual acuity improved by as much as one-half line (eye chart) among 57% of those tested, whereas all those in the placebo group lost some measure of vision.
